GitHub Topic Search API questions
How do I find GitHub topics for a subject?
Send a keyword such as machine learning, and set featured or curated to only get the topics GitHub highlights. Each topic has its name, display name, description and creator.
What can I do with GitHub topic data?
Pick the right topics to tag your repository with, or map a technology space. Pass a topic to the GitHub Repository Search API to list the repositories under it.
How do I get more than 10 results from a GitHub topic search?
Each call returns up to 10 topics. Send the same query with start set to the nextStart from the response for the next ones. GitHub only lets you page through the first 1,000 results of a search, so narrow the query to reach the rest.
How do I use the GitHub Topic Search API?
Send a POST request to https://api.bridgly.app/github/search-topics with the filters you want in the JSON body and your API key in the Authorization header. In the TypeScript SDK, call client.github.searchTopics(). AI agents connected to Bridgly over MCP can call the github_search_topics tool.
How much does the GitHub Topic Search API cost?
Costs 1 credit per request. Credits cost $2.00 per 1,000 on pay-as-you-go and as low as $1.00 per 1,000 at volume. New accounts on a business email start with 100 free credits, and failed requests are never charged.
