The social media MCP server for AI agents.

Bridgly hosts a remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server at mcp.bridgly.app. Add one URL to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex or VS Code and your AI assistant can look up LinkedIn profiles, read Reddit threads, search X (Twitter), pull YouTube transcripts and more, as tools it picks on its own. Nothing to install or host.

[ QUICK START ]

Get started with the MCP server in 3 steps

  1. 1

    Add the server URL

    In your AI app, add a custom connector or remote MCP server with this URL. Apps that support sign-in need nothing else.

    server URL
    https://mcp.bridgly.app/mcp
  2. 2

    Sign in, or pass an API key

    OAuth clients such as Claude and ChatGPT open a Bridgly page where you sign in and approve access. Clients configured by file or command take your API key as a bearer header instead.

    terminal
    claude mcp add --transport http bridgly https://mcp.bridgly.app/mcp \
    --header "Authorization: Bearer bgly_YOUR_KEY"
  3. 3

    Ask in plain language

    Start a new chat and ask for what you need. The model picks the right Bridgly tool, fills in its inputs and reads the result.

[ FEATURES ]

What you get with the Bridgly MCP server

Hosted, nothing to run

A remote server over Streamable HTTP. No Docker image, no local Node process, no browser automation on your laptop.

Sign in with OAuth

Claude and ChatGPT connect with a sign-in page and an approval screen. No key to copy into a config file.

One tool per endpoint

Every public API endpoint is a tool, named after its path: /x/get-user becomes x_get_user. Inputs carry the endpoint descriptions the model reads.

Read-only by design

Every tool is marked read-only, so clients can run it without asking you to confirm each call. A connected app cannot buy credits or manage keys.

Prices in the tool description

Each tool states what it costs, so the agent can plan. billing_get_info reads your balance for free.

Generated from the API

Tools are built from the same schemas as the REST API, so a new endpoint shows up in your agent with no update on your side.

[ SETUP ]

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex and VS Code

Pick your client. Apps with sign-in need only the URL; the rest take your API key in a header or config file.

  1. Connect Claude and ChatGPT by signing in

    1. Claude: open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. ChatGPT: open the connector settings and create a connector with OAuth authentication.
    2. Paste the server URL. Leave the client ID and secret empty.
    3. Choose Connect, sign in to Bridgly in the page that opens, and allow access.
    4. Enable Bridgly in a chat and ask for a profile, a post or a search.
    server URL
    https://mcp.bridgly.app/mcp
  2. Connect Bridgly to Claude Code

    Replace bgly_YOUR_KEY with your API key and run this command.

    Start a new Claude Code session. Type /mcp to confirm bridgly is connected.

    terminal
    claude mcp add --transport http --scope user \
    --header "Authorization: Bearer bgly_YOUR_KEY" \
    bridgly https://mcp.bridgly.app/mcp
  3. Connect Bridgly to Cursor

    Add bridgly to mcpServers in ~/.cursor/mcp.json. Replace bgly_YOUR_KEY with your API key.

    Save the file, enable Bridgly in Cursor’s MCP settings, and open an Agent chat.

    ~/.cursor/mcp.json
    {
    "mcpServers": {
    "bridgly": {
    "url": "https://mcp.bridgly.app/mcp",
    "headers": {
    "Authorization": "Bearer bgly_YOUR_KEY"
    }
    }
    }
    }
  4. Connect Bridgly to Codex

    Replace bgly_YOUR_KEY with your API key and run this command. It adds Bridgly to ~/.codex/config.toml.

    Restart Codex. In the CLI, type /mcp to confirm bridgly is connected.

    terminal
    cat >> ~/.codex/config.toml <<'EOF'
    [mcp_servers.bridgly]
    url = "https://mcp.bridgly.app/mcp"
    http_headers = { Authorization = "Bearer bgly_YOUR_KEY" }
    EOF
  5. Connect Bridgly to VS Code

    Add these inputs and servers entries to .vscode/mcp.json in your project.

    Click Start above bridgly in the editor and enter your API key when prompted. Open Copilot chat in Agent mode.

    .vscode/mcp.json
    {
    "inputs": [
    {
    "type": "promptString",
    "id": "bridgly-api-key",
    "description": "Bridgly API key",
    "password": true
    }
    ],
    "servers": {
    "bridgly": {
    "type": "http",
    "url": "https://mcp.bridgly.app/mcp",
    "headers": {
    "Authorization": "Bearer ${input:bridgly-api-key}"
    }
    }
    }
    }
  6. Connect Bridgly to Claude Desktop

    Requires Node.js. In Claude Desktop’s developer settings, edit claude_desktop_config.json. Add bridgly to mcpServers and replace bgly_YOUR_KEY.

    Fully quit and reopen Claude Desktop, then enable Bridgly tools in a new chat.

    claude_desktop_config.json
    {
    "mcpServers": {
    "bridgly": {
    "command": "npx",
    "args": [
    "-y",
    "mcp-remote",
    "https://mcp.bridgly.app/mcp",
    "--header",
    "Authorization:${BRIDGLY_AUTH_HEADER}"
    ],
    "env": {
    "BRIDGLY_AUTH_HEADER": "Bearer bgly_YOUR_KEY"
    }
    }
    }
    }
  7. Connect Bridgly to OpenClaw

    Replace bgly_YOUR_KEY with your API key and run this command to add Bridgly to OpenClaw.

    Start a new OpenClaw agent turn to load the Bridgly tools.

    terminal
    openclaw mcp set bridgly \
    '{"url":"https://mcp.bridgly.app/mcp","transport":"streamable-http","headers":{"Authorization":"Bearer bgly_YOUR_KEY"}}'

What is an MCP server?

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI apps call external tools. An MCP server describes its tools, what inputs they take and what they return, and the model decides when to call them. Bridgly’s MCP server gives your assistant live access to public social media data, so it answers from today’s posts and profiles instead of its training data.

Tools your agent gets

PlatformExample tools
LinkedInlinkedin_get_profile_from_url, linkedin_get_company_from_url, linkedin_search_jobs, linkedin_search_people
X (Twitter)x_get_user, x_get_user_tweets, x_search, x_get_tweet_replies
Redditreddit_get_post, reddit_list_subreddit_posts, reddit_search_comments
GitHubgithub_get_profile, github_search_repositories, github_search_code
Instagraminstagram_user, instagram_user_posts, instagram_post_comments
TikToktiktok_get_user, tiktok_get_video_comments, tiktok_search_videos
YouTubeyoutube_get_video, with the transcript
Accountbilling_get_info, your credit balance, free

Each call returns the same JSON as the REST API: timeMs, creditsCost and data. The agent sees exactly what a developer would.

Prompts that work well

  • “Look up this LinkedIn profile and draft a three-line cold email that references their last post.”
  • “Search Reddit for comments about our product in the last month and group them by complaint.”
  • “Get the transcript of this YouTube video and turn it into a blog post outline.”
  • “Compare the follower counts and posting frequency of these five X accounts in a table.”
  • “Find TypeScript repositories with more than 1,000 stars about MCP servers on GitHub.”

Agents can make many calls on one prompt. Ask for a fixed number of results, and check your balance with billing_get_info before large research tasks.

Security

  • The server is stateless. Your key or sign-in token is used for that request only and never shared between callers.
  • A signed-in app can read data and your balance. It cannot buy credits, change billing or create keys.
  • Your own social media accounts are never connected. Bridgly reads public data only.

MCP server questions

Which AI apps work with the Bridgly MCP server?

Any client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP. That includes Claude (web and desktop), Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, Codex, VS Code with Copilot agent mode, and OpenClaw.

Do I need to install anything?

No. The server is hosted at mcp.bridgly.app. Claude Desktop is the one exception when you use an API key: it connects through the small mcp-remote bridge, which runs with npx.

Is there a LinkedIn MCP server that does not need my LinkedIn login?

Yes, Bridgly. It reads public LinkedIn profiles, companies, posts and jobs without connecting your LinkedIn account, so there is no risk to your own profile.

How much does the MCP server cost?

The server itself is free. Tool calls use the same credits as API calls, in general one credit per call, and each tool’s description states its price. New accounts on a business email get 100 free credits.

Can the agent spend money without asking?

Tools spend credits from your existing balance, and a connected app cannot buy more. Checking your balance is free. Keep auto top-up off if you want a hard ceiling.

How do I disconnect it?

Remove Bridgly in the app’s connector settings, or run claude mcp remove bridgly in Claude Code. If you used an API key, revoke it in the dashboard too.

Pull your first profile in minutes.

Start with 100 free credits on a business email. The same data flows through the API, MCP, SDK and CLI.
