What is the Facebook Ad Library Search?
Meta publishes every ad running on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and the Audience Network in its Ad Library. This tool searches it by brand name or keyword and returns the active ads as a clean list: the ad text, the image or video, the destination link, the date it started running and the page behind it.
It is the fastest way to see what a competitor is advertising today, which offers they lead with and how long an ad has been kept running, which is a strong hint that it works.

How do I see the Facebook ads a competitor is running?
Type the competitor’s brand name at the top of this page and press Search ads. Their active ads are listed with the copy, creative, link and start date of each one.
Does it include Instagram ads?
Yes. The Ad Library covers every Meta placement, and each result shows whether the ad runs on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger or the Audience Network.
Can I see how much an advertiser spends?
No. Meta publishes spend and impressions only for political and social-issue ads. For other ads, the start date is the best public signal of how long it has run.
How many ads does a search return?
This page shows the top active ads for your search, ranked by impressions. The API returns up to 100 per request, with filters for country, media type, status and date.
Is the Facebook Ad Library Search free?
Yes. The Facebook Ad Library Search is free to use with no sign-up, no credit card and no browser extension to install. You only complete a quick check that you are human.
Is there a limit on how many times I can use it?
Each free tool allows a handful of runs per hour and per day from the same network, which keeps it fast for everyone. A free Bridgly account removes the limit and starts with 100 credits.
Can I get this data through an API?
Yes. This tool runs on the Bridgly Facebook API. The /meta-ads/search endpoint returns the same data as JSON, and is also available through the TypeScript SDK, the CLI and an MCP server for AI agents.
