What is the Subreddit Stats Viewer?

Every subreddit has its own size, tone and rules, and posting without knowing them is the fastest way to have a post removed. This viewer returns the essentials of any community: the subscriber count, the date it was created, its description, whether it is public or restricted, and which post types it allows.

The full list of community rules is included, with the explanation the moderators wrote for each one.

What people use it for

Check the rules before posting

Read every rule of a community in one place, so your first post there is not also your last.

Find communities worth joining

Compare the size and age of the subreddits in your niche before you invest time in them.

Plan Reddit marketing

Shortlist communities by audience size and by whether they allow links, images or self-promotion.

Subreddit Stats Viewer FAQ

How do I see how many members a subreddit has?

Enter the subreddit name at the top of this page and press View subreddit. The subscriber count is shown as an exact number, with the creation date of the community.

Can I see the rules of a subreddit here?

Yes. Every rule the moderators have published is listed with its description, so you can check them before you post.

Does it work for private subreddits?

Private communities hide their details from non-members, so only public and restricted subreddits return full results.

How do I know what I am allowed to post?

The tool shows which post types the subreddit accepts, such as images, videos, galleries and polls, alongside its written rules.

Is the Subreddit Stats Viewer free?

Yes. The Subreddit Stats Viewer is free to use with no sign-up, no credit card and no browser extension to install. You only complete a quick check that you are human.

Is there a limit on how many times I can use it?

Each free tool allows a handful of runs per hour and per day from the same network, which keeps it fast for everyone. A free Bridgly account removes the limit and starts with 100 credits.

Can I get this data through an API?

Yes. This tool runs on the Bridgly Reddit API. The /reddit/get-subreddit endpoint returns the same data as JSON, and is also available through the TypeScript SDK, the CLI and an MCP server for AI agents.
